EUROPEAN WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018, QUALIFICATION

The first round of the men’s qualifying competition for the European Water Polo Championships Barcelona 2018 will be held from March 17-19 in Prague. The Czech Republic, Austria, Bulgaria and Switzerland will compete for two tickets to the second round, scheduled for October 6-8.

Men’s Qualifications Round II will be played on 6 – 8 October 2017

No team will be eliminated at this stage, but their results will determine the matches of the following round (play-off format with home and away games) held in 2018. These eight squads will face the teams classified 9 to 16 in the latest edition of the European Water Polo Championships: France, Romania, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, Georgia, Malta and Turkey

These are the eight national teams qualified for Barcelona 2018, the eight best squads from Belgrade 2016. Eight more countries will fight for a slot at the pre-European tournament: Croatia, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia
