Hungary beat Netherlands again

In a rematch of the 2016 European Championships final Hungary defeated the Netherlands again in round 5 of the World League preliminary stage on Tuesday. Visiting the city of Dordrecht the Hungarian women used a better 2nd-half performance to walk away with a close 7-9; ironically the same final score as the gold medal final in Belgrade on January 22. The Dutch however maintained the lead in group A and are well underway to the Super Final in Shanghai. Italy hope to join them after beating France 5-10 remaining in 2nd place in the standings.
In group B Greece got a little piece of revenge on Russia who just weeks ago had eliminated the Greek women in a direct matchup for Olympic Games qualification in Gouda, Netherlands on penalties in dramatic fashion. On Tuesday Greece won 15-9, remain in 3rd place but hope to be able to clinch 2nd place with just 1 more round to play in which Greece face Germany while Russia host group leaders Spain. The Spanish women rolled past Germany at home 21-2 on Tuesday.
