Mladost secure Final Four spot

Thanks to two wins last weekend, and Partizan upset by Mornar 5-6 Mladost secured 4th place in the standings and the last Final Four spot of the Regional league following the regular season closing 20th round. Mladost came off a 14-6 win over Vojvodina to beat Radnicki 11-7 at home in another solid performance on Sunday. Luka Bukic (pictured) and Ivan Domagoj Zovic led the scoring for the Zagreb based side with 3 apiece. Partizan meanwhile fell short on reaching the Final Four, to be held in Dubrovnik, despite beating POSK 15-5. Their tough 5-6 loss to Mornar on Friday proved decisive in their attempt to battle for 4th place on the table. The comeback at home against Mornar came to late as Mateja Asanovic scored twice but his final goal only hit with just 3 seconds remaining. The upset loss proved costly two days later as Mladost held on and will join regular season winners Jug, 2nd ranked Primorje and 3rd seed Jadran Herceg Novi onto the Final Four tournament for the league victory this season. The remaining results over the weekend featured no surprises, even not with Jug controlling Jadran in Herceg Novi 6-13 on Friday to claim the regular season top spot.
Now the title contenders move onto the exciting stage of the championship to be played in two weeks time.
