Kovacic winner lifts Jadran past Partizan

Two straight goals in the final half of the last quarter, including the winner from captain Zeljko Kovacic lifted Jadran Herceg Novi past Partizan in their 18th round match-up in Montenegro on Sunday. It marked the comeback of a 5-7 deficit halfway through the 3rd period. Kovacic levelled the score at 7-7 scoring his 2nd straight goal early on in the final quarter before Gavril Subotic got Partizan, who played without Drasko Gogov, Nikola Jakisc and Djordje Tanaskovic, ahead again. This time Jadran got the final answer as Duro Radovic and once more Kovacic found the back of the net for the 9-8 score which proved decisive, despite the fact that still over 4 minutes were remaining. Jadran goalie Slaven Kandic stepped up in the final minutes to avoid Partizan scoring the equaliser.
In other results Mladost benefited from the Partizan loss as they defeated POSK 10-16 behind 8 goals from Luka Bukic who was on fire on Sunday. Also in Split, Primorje eased past Mornar 5-13 as Andelo Setka earned top scoring honours with 4 goals.
