Stingers, USA, Canada victorious in Interncontinental tourney openers

The favourite teams started off well at the FINA Women's World League Interncontinental tournament in Lewisville, Texas on Tuesday each posting a win. Australia seemingly faced the toughest opposition in downing China 12-10. But 5 goals by Glencora McGhie and a strong showing in the 3rd quarter helped the Stingers secure their opening day win. For home team USA the start was rather comfortable with Brazil being blown away 2-17. Kiley Neushul led the scoring for the reigning champs netting 5 shots. In the day's final match Canada proved too much for Japan to handle. Already leading 6-9 at half-time the Canadian women walked away to a 10-19 win in the 2nd half.
