Partizan start slow, still tie Mladost

In a game between two contenders for 4th place on the Regional league table Mladost were off to a nice start gaining a quick 0-2 lead in Belgrade in round 13 on Friday. Home side Partizan however were there to respond in the 2nd period and the teams remained levelled in the 2nd half to finish with a 5-all score, where Mladost needed a win to make up ground in the rankings. Elsewhere the top sides made no mistake. Jug rolled past Vojvodina at home 20-6 in a blowout win, highlighted by Pavo Markovic who went off for 6 goals. Jadran Herceg Novi held off Radnicki 11-7 to stay in 3rd place, tied with Primorje whose win over Red Star was the reglementary 0-5 as the Serbian club ignored the sentence by the league for lining up 3 reportedly non-eligible players. The situation over the dispute is getting worse with Red Star getting close to being suspended for their actions, despite stating to have followed the LEN and Serbian Water Polo Federation rules in signing 3 players from Georgia during the winter break.
