Montenegro, Croatia win Dubrovnik tournament openers

Favourites Montenegro and Croatia start off the 2-day, 4-nation tournament in Dubrovnik with a win on Tuesday. The Montenegrins kicked off action at the pool of Jug Dubrovnik proving too strong for Germany 8-11. Top scorer for the 2013 world championships runners-up was veteran Nikola Janovic who scored 4 goals. Darko Brguljan added 3 for the Vladimir Gojkovic coached squad. In the 2nd game hosts Croatia defeated Brazil and their head coach Ratko Rudic. Antonio Petkovic and Maro Jokovic (pictured) carried the offensive load netting 4 shots each. Croatia-born centre forward Josip Vrlic scored 3 goals for Brazil, where Slobodan Soro, awaiting the finalisation of his change of sports nationality to Brazil, was the starting goalkeeper.
On a busy Wednesday the teams will play two more games to conclude the final test ahead of the 2016 European Championships in Belgrade, to start January 10.
