The Netherlands wins Ibrahim Sulu Memorial

The Netherlands completed a successful preparation phase in Istanbul by winning the Ibrahim Sulu Memorial tournament remaining perfect in three games over the past days. On Wednesday the Dutch defeated Georgia 9-14 in the tournament final behind 3 goals from captain Roeland Spijker. The Georgians, unbeaten in the first two days, finished 2nd while hosts Turkey grabbed 3rd place as they beat an incomplete Romania team 9-5 in the final game of the tournament. All sides will now continue to finalise their preparations for the upcoming 2016 European Championships, to kick off in Belgrade's Kombank Arena on Sunday, January 10.
