Olympiacos storms back to tie Barceloneta

Olympiacos scored the final three goals of the match to storm back and tie Barceloneta 7-7 in the Champions League preliminary round day 4 match-up in Barcelona on Tuesday. Home side Barceloneta saw a 7-4 advantage with under 4 minutes to go being washed away as Georgios Ntoskas levelled the score with only 3 seconds on the clock. Strikingly the draw is Olympiacos' 3rd in 4 Champions League matches thus far. Thanks to the point Barceloneta now tied group A leader Primorje in points while Olympiacos is in 3rd place just a single point behind in the standings.
Story of the game undoubtedly was the seemingl decisive advantage that Barceloneta build up in the third quarter, which came to a height at the 3.59 mark in the final quarter when Alberto Munarriz scored his only goal of the game. Both sides, as expected, had fought out a close battle in the first half so that the little run by the home team in the third quarter looked even more as making a strong case for the win. However things changed in the final minutes as Olympiacos showed their resillience and started a comeback. From Alexandros Gounas and Spanish lefty Blai Mallarach scoring consecutive goals, to Ntoskas delivering the dagger ultimately late, the home fans in Barcelona were silenced as they saw a seemingly sure win turning into a hard-fought tied game. Top scorers for the Spanish champion were the Rasovic brothers each scoring 2 goals. Veteran Emmanouil Mylonakis and Alexandros Gounas did the same for the visitors.
The Champions League 4th round will be concluded on Wednesday as the remaining three matches will be played.
