Brescia beats Sport Management

Brescia held off another attack at their unbeaten status in round 10 of the Italian league this weekend. Third seed Sport Management gave it a good shot but in the end came up short to lose 9-7, only to see Brescia walking away further in the rankings. Valerio Rizzo (pictured) was on target once more scoring 4 goals as he led the home team to a hard-fought win. League top scorer Antonio Petkovic netted 2 for Sport Management where left-hander Giacomo Bini also scored a pair. Meanwhile in the Naples derby CC Napoli topped last week's European Super Cup losers Posillipo 8-10. Umberto Esposito led the winners, playing without Darko Brguljan, as he scored 3 goals. Difference-maker was the third quarter in which CC Napoli went on for a 0-3 run which proved decisive.
Third Naples-based side Acquachiara meanwhile, also playing at home, held off Trieste in a back-and-forth contest. The home team dominated the opening and final quarter but in between saw Trieste coming closer and closer. Stefano Luongo was unstoppable scoring 5 goals for the winners, while Marko Elez did the same for Trieste. Savona and Bogliasco held their mid-table positions thanks to respective victories. On Friday Savona topped RN Sori 8-10 thanks to a strong finish, led by centre forward Olexandr 'Sasha' Savodyy who scored 3 goals. Bogliasco also celebrated a win with a 2-goal margin as CC Ortigia could not overcome a inferior performance in the game's 2nd and 3rd period. Vital for the home team were Matthew DeTraine (3 goals ) and Alessandro di Somma (4).
In a match-up between two bottom-ranked teams Lazio and Florentia shared points. The visitors came back in the final period to draw level 12-12 behind Dusan Vasic' 4 goals. Pro Recco will play their game hosting Roma Vis Nova on Thursday March 3, 2016 due to Champions League duties this weekend.
