© Alessandro Arbocò 25 Nov Pro Recco cruises past Posillipo to claim Super Cup By: Tim Hartog Men, Champions League, Euro Cup The first trophy of this season for Pro Recco is claimed. On Wednesday at home in Sori the European Super Cup was won beating Posillipo. The reigning European champions, adding a 6th European Super Cup trophy to their resume, could even allow themselves a slow start cruising past last season's Euro Cup winners 12-4. Sandro Sukno led all scorers with 3. The home team, knowing on Saturday already the Champions League season continues, got off to a slow start but grabbed a firm grip on the match in the second quarter scoring thrice on man-up as all of a sudden a seemingly comfortable 5-1 lead at half-time was established. That already proved decisive in the second half where Recco still not put up an impressive performance but simply did not needed that while Posillipo, already subject to a 13-2 loss in round 4 of the Italian championship and missing centre forward Filip Klikovac, struggled on offence to create clear opportunities. In a slow final period Recco countered away to extend their advantage to 8 but already knew their first trophy of this season was a fact.
