Mataro hands Sabadell second straight loss

Reigning champions Barceloneta have taken a firm grip of the Spanish league's top spot following round 10 this weekend. There Mataro Quadis (pictured) handed fellow title contenders Sabadell their 2nd straight loss beating them 7-5 behind 4 goals from Albert Merino. Difference maker was the home team's first-half performance where a decisive 4-1 lead was grabbed. That proved vital as Mataro managed to keep Sabadell under control in the remainder of the match with the 7-5 final score as a result. Barceloneta meanwhile won the derby against Barcelona with a blowout 18-6 score at the board after regular time. No less than 4 players scored a hat-trick as Barceloneta's balanced attack saw 9 different players scoring. Elsewhere Real Canoe followed Mataro Quadis in the battle for 3rd place beating Sant Feliu 8-14. The favourite visitors played a tough first half but restored order in the second even dominating the final eight minutes scoring 5 unanswered goals.
Elsewhere Terrassa added three points to their total holding Navarra in Pamplona 5-7 while overcoming an early 3-1 deficit. Mediterrani stayed in persuit of 5th place winning a close match-up with Catalunya 7-8.
