Jug proves too strong for Jadran

The Regional league returned to action with the 9th round played on Friday. Number three Jadran Herceg Novi proved unable to force an upset playing league leaders Jug Dubrovnik at their home pool in Gruz. The title favourites took command early and never let doubt on the outcome of the match-up. The duo of driver and league top scorer Felipe Perrone (5 goals) and centre forward Luka Loncar (4) combined for 9 of the team's goals.
Top scorer of the day around the regional league however was youngster Luka Bukic. He led Mladost to a nice 9-11 win at Vojvodina as the Croatian side kept up with Partizan in the race for 4th place on the table. Partizan meanwhile posted a solid 6-12 victory in Split facing Mornar, led by world champion Nikola Jaksic who scored 3 goals. Current 2nd seed and defending champions Primorje rolled past Radnicki in Kragujevac: 3-12. Nikola Dedovic and Gonzalo Echenique were on target for the winners netting 3 shots each. POSK celebrated just the 2nd win so far as they held off Red Star at home 12-8, behind 4 goals from Ante Corusic. The league continues with round 10 on Sunday.
