Liverpool in charge

Reigning champions Liverpool Lizards continued their domination of the British League women’s competition, rounding off the first phase of the season with a 100 per cent record after beating Leeds Sharks 20-2 and City of Manchester 14-6 at Matlock.

Liverpool will be joined in the Super 5s in the second half of the campaign by Manchester, London club Otter, City of Coventry and Scottish representatives Caledonia. Leeds, Sheffield Sharks and West London Penguin drop to Championship 1.

Caledonia began the Matlock weekend without a point. But they started with an 11-8 win over Sheffield. Then a 12-7 victory over Penguin, including four goals apiece for Nicola Tate and Susan Johnstone, brought them level with Leeds and Sheffield on four points. With Sheffield then losing 19-10 to Otter and Leeds going down 11-6 to Coventry, Caledonia went through by virtue of a superior goal difference. Go to for all the latest results in the UK.
