Barceloneta regains lead with big win over Sabadell

The reigning champions have regained the lead in the Spanish league this weekend in impressive fashion. Barceloneta in a head-to-head duel with then leaders and main contender Sabadell dominated on all ends posting a clear 5-16 win on Saturday in the league's 9th round. Albert Español was on target once more scoring 4 goals as the visitors took command in the second period and did not let go. In fact, Sabadell remained scoreless in the third quarter and scored only twice in the final eight minutes while conceding 5. With the win Barceloneta now leads the league as Sabadell trails just a by a single point.
Another important win was claimed by Terrassa who defeated fellow 6th place contender Mediterrani 9-5 at home causing a difference in points between 6th and 7th place on the table of 6 points as the first gap unravels. Real Canoe held off Sant Andreu 11-9 to remain in 3rd place. Alberto Barroso and Victor Gutierrez had to carry the team like they've done before as each scored 4 goals. The home side's 5-1 run in the second session proved vital for the tough victory. Mataro Quadis had less trouble earning three points this weekdn. CN Rubi was dominated and defeated with a blowout score of 6-20, with league top scorer Robin Lindhout going for 7 goals. The third side now with 18 points is Barcelona who posted a solid win over Navarra (11-6) despite losing the 2nd quarter 0-2 and the half-time score being 3-3. Order was restored however in the third period (5-0) as the home side took off claiming the 5-goal victory.
