Bogliasco ties Sport Management

The 8th round in the Italian league was kicked off on Friday with two teams in the mid-section of the table squarring off. In Naples and thanks to a strong 4-0 start Acquachiara gained a welcome win over Savona 11-7. It saw the last year's Euro Cup finalists rising to 6th place in the standings while Savona is now in 8th place. Top scorer for the home side was Michele Gitto with 3 goals.
On Saturday 3th ranked Sport Management lost ground to the still unbeaten top teams in the league as Bogliaco held them to a 9-9 draw. A pair of important goals in the final period, including the equaliser by Brazilian addition Ives Gonzalez had the home team cheering for an excellent result. Sport Management remains in 3rd place but Posillipo is coming close Bogliasco meanwhile is now in 7th place, also benefiting from Savona's loss on Friday. Elsewhere Ortigia celebrated their first win of the season. Last-ranked Sori was defeated 5-9 at their home. Steven Camilleri led the visitors with 2 goals. Trieste won a close match-up with Roma Vis Nova. 3 straight goals and the winner by Henriques Berlanga were scored in the 3rd period by the home team and got them to 9th place on the table, having tied Roma Vis Nova with 9 points. CC Napoli continues to be in the slipstream of Posillipo, on Saturday knocking off SS Lazio Nuoto 11-14 in Rome. Darko Brguljan was on target once more leading the visitors by scoring 4 goals.
No surprises in the top of the league where usual suspects Pro Recco and Brescia continued their unbeaten run. Brescia dominated Posillipo at home 10-2, once more displaying the difference of the top 2 teams and the rest of the Serie A1 contenders, while defending champions Pro Recco overpowered RN Florentia 18-4. Dusan Mandic, Matteo Aicardi and Aleksandar Ivovic each scored 3 goals in the win.
