Jug, Jadran, Primorje continue winning

With current Regional league leaders Jug maintaining their unbeaten run with a solid 7-16 win over Red Star, it was Jadran Herceg Novi who kept up with their pace, also playing in the Banjica pool in Belgrade on Sunday. In fact the Montenegrin Champions League participant was up first facing home side Partizan for a tough encounter, but won 10-12, before Jug kicked off against Red Star. The rivals are playing their matches at Banjica recently since being expelled from their home pool of Tasmajdan due to ongoing differences between the club and pool management. On Sunday however Jug quickly jumped out to a 1-5 lead at quarter time and never looked back. For Jadran the win was a lot tougher. In fact, Partizan managed to cut the deficit to just 1 in the final quarter as Nikola Jaksic scored the 10-11 goal with over 4 minutes remaining. Two minutes later however Stefan Pjesivac scored what proved to be the winner for Jadran. Shots by Nikola Janovic and Gavril Subotic were saved in the remainder so that the visitors walked away with the 2-goal victory.
Elsewhere Primorje marched on in another blowout win. Mornar could not do anything to stop the defending champion team from rolling past them. Ivan Krapic, Petar Muslim and Gonzalo Echenique eached scored 4 goals in a 20-3 triumph. Meanwhile Mladost also added 3 points to their total. POSK got overpowered from the 2nd period as the home team posted a clear 12-5 win to now ty Partizan in points for the 4th place in the standings. Vetera Ivan Milakovic led all scorers with 4.
