Mataro, Sant Andreu tied, Sabadell holds off Terrassa

In the 6th round of the Spanish league, played on Saturday, league leaders Sabadell held their position and unbeaten status thanks to a nice and commanding 8-11 victory away at Terrassa. Overcoming an early 4-2 deficit the squad, regarded as main title contender next to defending champs Barceloneta, crawled back in the game and decided things in the final period. Elsewhere an exciting and close match-up was played between Mataro and Sant Andreu. The visitors enjoyed a good first-half showing and got to leading 2-6 early in the third quarter before the home side started a comeback. It ultimately led to the equaliser scored by Dutch international Robin Lindhout. Despite both teams having opportunities to go for the win, the 7-7 final score was a proper end to a close and spectacular match.
Meanwhile reigning champs Barceloneta allowed starters like Marc Minguell, Strahinja Rasovic, Marc Roca and Fran Fernandez some rest as last-ranked Sant Feliu was defeated 11-5. Brazilian Rafael Saboya earned top scoring honours for the Champions League participant scoring 3 goals. Real Canoe consolidated their 3rd position on the table by holding off Navarra 9-11 in Pamplona. Alberto Barroso and Victor Gutierrez, each scoring 4 goals, had a big part of the offensive production of their team. Barcelona joined the teams tied for 3rd place as they convincingly got past Catalunya 11-6 at home. Lukas Duric led all scorers with 5 being a big part of the victory. Welcoming a third win was Mediterrani who overcame a 1-3 first-quarter score in an up-and-down match-up with Rubi to finally win 8-6.
