© facebook.com/VKJug 20 May Jug ties Croatian finals winning shootout once again By: Tim Hartog National Leagues, Miscellaneous The finals of this year's play-offs for the championship in Croatia are one true example of an epic showdown. Another penalty shootout was forced on Wednesday as game 4 in Dubrovnik saw the score levelled at 7-7 at the end of regulation with both sides having their shots at the victory in the final stages of the 4th period but both strong defences, especially Primorje's on man-down, prevented an early decision. Jug however did manage to overcome an early 0-2 deficit as the visitors and reigning champs struck first and led 0-2 going into the second period, even extending that to an incredible 0-5 score before Jug responded in a superior 3rd quarter to tie the game. The shootout went on to be a controversial one. It started when Petar Muslim got up for his shot for Primorje but according to the referee wasn't in the correct position at first, not ready to shoot when the referee signalled to do so and saw his attempt being called off. After looking to the 'ref' in disbelieve Muslim threw the ball in his direction and got excluded. His presence for game 5 is yet to be announced. The following attempt by Jug's Nikola Janovic, who had trouble remaining in position but held on to convert, led to even more frustration on Primorje's bench where longtime Jug player Sandro Sukno was up next. Sukno shot home his attempt like all others in the series in convincing fashion. Ultimately last year's Primorje player Paulo Obradovic scored the winning penalty shot to give Jug a tense 12-11 victory at home in game 4 as the series will now come down to an epic game 5 next Saturday at Primorje's home pool in Rijeka.
