By: Tim Hartog Men, Champions League Premium content - not valid role (TEST) The 2015 Champions League Final Six tournament could be held in the largest country in the Caucasus region located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe. Azerbaijan has applied to host the final of the Champions League in 2015, website Azernews reported on Monday. According to Federation head Fatiyev the decision to submit a bid was made during a meeting with European Swimming Federation (LEN) President Paolo Barelli during his visit to te city of Baku. The tournament shall be played in the Water Sports Palace in Baku, currently being build, which is to accomodate over 6,000 spectators and will contain three swimming pools, a fitness room, a restaurant, a conference room, service and support facilities that meet the requirements of the International Swimming Federation. Source: Azernews The Champions League setup is revised and from next season on will feature a system which includes the giving of eight wildcards by LEN to teams for the preliminary round and a final tournament with not four (Final Four) but six teams. Regarding 2014 LEN manager Marco Birri earlier confirmed to have received four bids for hosting the Final Six already. Barceloneta (ESP), Brescia (ITA), Eger (HUN) and Galatasaray (TUR) have applied to host next year's conclusion of the top-tier European club competition.
