Kuwait to host FINA Development Trophy

The 4th FINA World Men's Water Polo Development Trophy will be held 6-11 May at Kuwait City, Kuwait. FINA has announced the invited teams for the upcomping event which is consisting of 12 nations from three continents - Asia, Africa and the Americas. The field of developing waterpolo nations is led by South Africa followed by the previous winners Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The idea is to bring together 12 men's senior teams that do not usually participate in big FINA waterpolo events and invite them to compete in this new international meeting to be held every second year. The FINA is also providing a share of the guest teams' travel expenses. Starting in 2007, the first two editions were held in Kuwait City, Kuwait. In 2011 the invited teams were meeting at Damman, Saudia Arabia when the home team took the title.
