Vasas reaches finals

The Hungarian league playoffs finals will see the same matchup as last year's. On Sunday Vasas defeated Honvéd 12-7 in a decisive game 3 battle at home. After a furious start, the home team ran out to a 5-0 start after the first quarter and already a 7-1 lead at halftime. It wasn't before a 9-1 score was reached before Honvéd managed to reduce the deficit, eventually to five goals, but could prevent elimination. Lefthander Márton Vámos scored three goals for the home team while both Miklós Gor Nagy and Ferenc Salamon netted two for Honvéd. Vasas will now face defending champs ZF-Eger in the finals.
