No big surprises in the Adriatic league this weekend as the top-4 all won their respective matches, althoug last year's finalist Jug Dubrovnik had a hard time at Split beating Mornar 9-11. But with Mladost defeating title-holder Jadran Herceg Novi 13-8, the Croats join the definite top four who will play the Final Four at Rijeka on March 17 and 18. We will see a Final Four tournament in which the league winner of last year will not participate as Jadran was eliminated after losing to Mladost who are looking to meet league leaders Pro Recco in the semi-finals while Jug and Primorje will probably battle for the second finals spot. Serbian star player Vanja Udovicic (pictured) was the top scorers for Mladost netting four goals. The big matchup at Rijeka between home team Primorje and the league leading side of Pro Recco ended in a clear 6-13 win for the still unbeaten Italian record champion. Serbian centre-forward Dusko Pijetlovic and Spanish international Felipe Perrone scored three goals each for Recco. Hungarian Denes Varga and Croatian Petar Muslim were the home team's top scorers netting two goals each. Jug reached a hard fought 9-11 win over Mornar after the home side came back to 8-10 having trailed 4-9 at one point before Pavo Markovic, with his third goal of the evening, crashed all hopes for Mornar. In the bottom section of the rankings, Budva continued their winning streak with a 12-14 victory in Slovenia against their national champion Koper Rokava. Lefthander Damjan Danilovic scored no less than six goals for the Montenegrin side.Adriatic League 2011-2012
