A five-nation-tournament for men’s junior teams of the age group 1993 started yesterday morning at the Polish city of Debica. Here the Ukrainian squad started with a 3-0 run and has come pretty close to the first place. Home team Poland started with a 20-6 victory against Lithuania, but suffered a setback this morning, when head coach Piotr Diakonów’s players lost 7-6 to Ireland. Poland and Ukraine will still face each other tomorrow morning in the final session of the three-day competition.

Once more, two international tournaments will be contested on Polish soil to prepare for the upcoming European Junior Championships Qualification Tournaments to be held 24-27 May. The first one is taking place here right in the Southeast of Poland. The second will be organised pretty close to the German border at the well-known powerhouse of Gorzow Wlkp., where the teams are battling for the Slowianka Cup again.
