Two more Europeans sides in Edmonton

The World Swimming federation FINA today announced the grouping of both Olympic qualification tournaments for the draw which is scheduled for February 19 in London, Great Britain. The men's tournament to be held in Edmonton, Canada (1-8 April) saw the addition of the recent European Championships number eleven FYRO Macedonia, and even number twelve Turkey, in the absence of an Oceania representative next to the continent's number one Australia who is already qualified for the 2012 Olympics. Pan American Games numbers three, five and last placed number eight, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela respectively, will participate as well. An Asia representative, next to the already qualified side of Kazakhstan, is missing. The women's tournament in Trieste, Italy (15-22 April) will contain just nine teams. Both tournaments will have the final four 2012 Olympic Games berths available. Read more for the batch grouping and all participants.

Men:

Batch 1: Spain and Montenegro
Batch 2: Germany and Canada
Batch 3: Romania and Brazil
Batch 4: Greece and Argentina
Batch 5: Venezuela and Netherlands
Batch 6: FYRO Macedonia and Turkey

The teams will be drawn into a group A and B.

Women:

Batch 1: Greece and Russia
Batch 2: Italy and Netherlands
Batch 3: Canada and Hungary
Batch 4: Spain and Kazakhstan
Batch 5: Brazil

Teams will be drawn into a group A and B as well.

The draw for both tournaments will be held in London, Great Britain on February 19 2012.
