Yes, waterpolo is obviously played in North Korea or the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea as the communist country is officially called. The surprising information and other views on the game can be taken from the new blog of Erkin Shagaev (erkinshagaev.com) who is reporting his experience as lecturer during a FINA coaches clinic to be held at the national capital Pyongyang in 2009. Shagaev won a gold medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, USSR and other international titles as player with the national team of the former Soviet Union and was is serving as waterpolo coach for more than two decades now. Today he is the head coach of the Sydney University Junior Men´s Development Program.
